Now approaching their second birthday, Assembly Records unleash possibly their most sought after release to date, from precocious talent Se-Je. Accompanied by a generous remix package comprising emerging producers James Johnston, Michael McLardy and No Artificial Colours, the 'Make Me Feel' single impresses with a diverse sonic palette. Se-Je's original cut features an infectious vocal hook and haunting verbal echoes joined by a warm, almost submerged bassline and a laid-back groove, culminating in a formidable slice of House music that sets the bar pretty high. Thankfully, future heroes No Artificial Colours have more than met this standard with their dramatic stamp on the release, adding a mass of tension and a flourish of shimmering percussion to great effect. Elsewhere, James Johnston and Michael McLardy return to Assembly with their contributions. Whilst Johnston strips the record back to it's basic form, adding a neat organ riff, McLardy slows the tempo and injects a somewhat cosmic feel to the track, soliciting a sense of summer. The 'Make Me Feel' single represents a continuation of form for the increasingly fruitful Assembly Records, whilst demonstrating the sublime production credentials of it's contributing artists.
