简介
In 1995/6, a a talented young director and group of dedicated young filmmakers created a low budget film, shot on 35mm ends, that was excellent. It had a working title of "Kiss It Goodbye." The film was a "jazz movie", A story of loss and redemption and murder, played out in the life of a young tenor saxophone pIayer - a jazz musician. I was contracted to score the picture and jumped at the opportunity. I assembled a great quartet for the jazz sequences and at the last minute the tenor player had to back out. He sent a sub with the following recommendation -"this kid plays his "*ss off". The sub was Eric Alexander and he did - he was absolutely terrific- as was the rest of the quartet - Bobby Previte on drums; Neal Kirkwood, piano; Jeff Carney, bass. I played guitars, keyboard and trombone and Bill Kinslow played alto flute. It was recorded at Studio "K" and mixed at the fabulous RPM studio in New York. We all went our separate ways and the film - well -disappeared - I have no idea what happened to it, but I found a vhs tape with a rough mix of the movie and was blown away. I dug through my files, rediscovered the music (which had been mixed to tape), listened to it through, and then worked with Peter Karl at Peter Karl Studios to remix, and master it and here it is. "Kiss It Goodbye" was a labor of love, then and now. The music is inspired by and dedicated to George Adams, and the George Adams/Don Pullen Quartet. I hope you enjoy it and in my heart of hearts I hope that someday this movie is "found" and released.
