Kim Nyesha Smith is a poet and spoken word artist of 15 years, and a singer songwriter for 20 years. She has previously worked with Black on Black Rhyme Poets, J Shape Live Band, and Rasta Funk and the African Revolution. As an community artist, she has produced her own poetry play “Color Me In” and hosted youth open-mic events such as Palm Beach Lakes CHS Modern Graffiti Slams, and adult events such as Closet Poets. Nyesha is also an educator who creates and implements arts-infusion curriculum for high school students. She is an English instructor at Palm Beach Lakes CHS. She is also the creative director of her own company, Ink Creative Group, which uplifts others through the gift of writing. She gives writing workshops to young writers and one current series that she is producing, “Write My Pain Away” will launch this summer in Boynton Beach, FL. In 2010, Nyesha published her first collection of poetry, “Edge of Light: A Woman’s Soulful Requiem of Love.” This fall Nyesha was selected to work with the “Mighty 9 Woman’s Renaissance Writers” and in addition to her work as a poet, Nyesha is a talented songwriter and is a part of the Raja Music Group (RMG). And this summer her EP, “..come into View” will debut.
