简介
"They sewed all seeds in concrete. No flowers did they reep, 'But Wheat Decided to Grow'..." What was once deemd impossible has now come to fruition. An album by Jack Fuller is actually HERE! FINALLY!!! This album contains work fill with intense honesty. With music that will open you ears to new possibilities, lyrics that will speak to your eyes, harmonies that will fill your lungs, and melodies/emotion/vulnerablities that will bring consciousness to you heart, Jack infuses a lot of truth into each track (as with all of his work). These songs are reflections of either his life or the experiences of his close friends and family. Even if a song comes from something he concocted in his mind, the weight of actual occurances carries them. The music is a splicing of the styles of his various influences. Classical, Jazz, Gospel, Rock, and World Music are combined with his beloved soul music. He writes lyrics that are in your face and straight foward or highly metaphoric with multiple layers and meanings. You could find something new in one of his lines for a while. Also, he goes from "eloquently put" (ex. You appear standing on a river, now still and serene-Only a Dream) to "real" (ex. Climbing the latter I expose to much of my cakes. Life just violates. Violated by Life) effertlessly. His harmonies are a contemporary take on counterpoint at times and an emotionally avant-guard expression of a lyric at others. Songs like "Shiver" can have 4+ parts at once, creating a symphony. Other songs such as "Dare I Say Child" (Background vocals per formed by Sandra Miller, Tamara Hutchinson, and Dallisha Thomas) are pure soul. Jack's voice can lull you to relaxtion and call you to arms. The 4 octave and a 5th range at his beck and call are matched by the range of his dynamic expression. In control of extremely interesting vocal lines and modal interchange, Mr. Fuller's ear for improvisation and accuracy is liken to that of a skilled instrumentalist. Jack has the makings of a true artist. Hope you join us on and enjoy this exciting journey. "...I guess to wrap it up (lol) 'But Wheat Decided to Grow' has a few meanings. Yet, the one I meant by calling the album that is, sometimes you work so hard to receive something you feel should be the result fruit of your spoils. You know, doing things to get something specific and desired... However, the Creator totally just bypasses your idea and gives you the very thing you needed and didn't expect instead. You planted flower seeds, 'But...' exactly."-Jack Fuller
