简介
Mike Gallemore is a true Music Man, of the Southside of Chicago variety. Blues man, for sure. His first CD features Pat Doody on drums, Biscuit Miller on bass, Rusty Hall on keyboards, and guest vocalist Fernando Jones on a couple of cuts. Mike's guitar and lead vocals are right-on in the straightforward opener, "Music Man," and they just don't stop. Music Man is a full-tilt blues record, high energy with "Life's a B**ch," and when Mike rips into "Chicago," it's worthy of comparison to classic odes to the City of Big Shoulders like "Sweet Home Chicago." When Mike and company slow it down on "What If Something Happens," I can just see couples doing an intimate, slow and close box-step on a crowded dancefloor. The set closes with a hyperactive "If I Didn't Love You," with Fernando Jones on lead vocals. Music Man is a high energy ride, Chicago blues style. Reviewed by Eric Steiner
