The SOULMATES is a newcomer band taking off with their debut album “From Now On”. In 2007 The SOULMATES introduced themselves to the Swiss music scene with a first concert in Zurichs international Jazz Club Moods, performing songs by Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Incognito, Raw Stylus, George Benson, Michael McDonald and Marvin Gaye. But it was clear from the beginning that The SOULMATES wanted to be an original band. One and a half years later at the end of 2008 their first CD album with original music has now been released. The typical sound of The SOULMATES is a blend of Soul, R&B and Pop, which emphasizes especially the voices – we call it Rhythm & Soul. The four vocalists Louis Freddy Carnel, Manuela Gagliotta, Sonja Goeschel and Cherry Ward give the character to the SOULMATES sound both as blending choir and as spiritful lead singers. The band is completed by Greg Galli (keyboards & vocals), Jean-Marc Hunziker (guitar & vocals), Haig Alexander (drums), Christian Bohren (bass) and Florian Egli (sax). The title of their first CD “FROM NOW ON” is based on the song “From Now On”. It’s a song about self awareness. But it also beautifully stands for the spirit of The SOULMATES.
