At the early age of 5 years old, Millard discovered his personal blessing and God given talent as a percussionist. Over the next few years, there was no percussion instrument that this young man had not mastered. By the time he was nine, he had moved on to the drums...and that was where he found his passion. Thomas' natural talent as a drummer led him to play for Rance Allen at the age of 12. Throughout his teen years, he traveled and completed his first recording as a drummer with VOS (Voices of Salvation). Thomas is currently functioning as a gospel, Christian, jazz, and R&B producer, arranger, songwriter, composer, lyricist, and musician. In 1990, he met Minister Thomas A. Whitfield, who became his father figure, mentor, friend and confidant. Whitfield immediately adopted Millard as his spiritual son, to love, and introduced him to the life as a professional gospel musician for the legendary choir Thomas Whitfield and Company. Under Whitfield's guidance, Thomas also began to recognize his ability to compose and arrange music. After the homegoing of Minister Whitfield, it seems as if Thomas Whitfield's essence, spirit, and talent live on through Thomas' music. Thomas has performed with some of the world's best known gospel artists such as Commissioned, The Clark Sisters, Kirk Franklin, Dallas/Ft. Worth Choir, Apostle Darrell Yancey, Jeffery Lavalley, Keith Pringle, Douglas Miller, Pastor Marvin Winans, his godfather-Daryl Coley, among many others. He was also a musician in several gospel plays that toured throughout the country and produced musical works for area Detroit artists, choirs, and churches. In 1995, Thomas founded 3Ms Productions and began to produce, arrange, and write his own music. His volumes of music include over 300 written works and over 550 compositions-all produced and arranged by Thomas, himself. In 1999, Thomas created a concept called his Radical Praise Ministry, R.P.M., and began to write and arrange music for this collaboration. R.P.M.'s first CD, titled This Must Be Heard, will be available in 2005. The radio singles "My King, My Lord", "I Truly Thank God", and "Your Life Is In The Blood" were released in September 2004. The singles' CD also included a bonus cut of "He's Calling You". This Must Be Heard will include 12 tracks of a mix of contemporary and traditional gospel music that extends from relaxing, soul-stirring hymns to up-tempo, hand-clapping praise and worship tracks. This introductory CD will let the world know what some have already discovered in Thomas...he must be heard...not just the music but the words.
