简介
Honky-tonk (noun): 1. a usually tawdry nightclub or dance hall; especially : one that features country music. 2: a district marked by places of cheap entertainment. 3: country music that has a heavy beat and lyrics dealing usually with vice or misfortune. That’s the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of Honky-tonk. And by all means, it defines Jesse Jones’s third album “Honky Tonk Highway.” Again, producer Bryan Carter captures the essence of Country traditionalism that is Jones’s trademark sound. The 10 tracks that you will find contained on “Honky Tonk Highway” is a true buffet of hardcore honky-tonkers that represents the vice and misfortune of the common man. The songwriters who contributed to this classic Jesse Jones record is most impressive. Jon Philibert (writer of the Tom Jones smash hit “I’ve Been Rained On Too”) wrote three of the tunes on the album. And with sad heart we pay tribute to hit songwriter Louis Brown (writer of the Keith Whitley song “Tennessee Courage”) who passed away in November 2015 just after Jesse Jones recorded his song “I Can’t Get Past Yesterday” co-written by Steve Owen. Other notable songsters represented on this project are Larry Goddard, JD Cole, Bobby Johnson, Gary Lumpkin, Dee Desaire, Ben Kitchens, Larry Baxter and Jesse Jones himself. Sean Green of the Irish Connection Radio Show on Strabane Radio, Ireland says it all: This is the 3rd album from Jesse Jones who comes from Rainsville, Northeast Alabama and by purchasing this being his 3rd album called Honky Tonk Highway, what you the listener are getting is an album full of pure country music straight from the heart not watered down in any way. The album was recorded in Alabama with producer Bryan Carter doing the honours as he has done on this albums two predecessors . As you will see he continues with the trend of getting the real Jesse Jones sound coming out of the grooves. Jesse had various songwriters send him their songs and after selecting ten of the finest you now have one great album. The musicianship is of the finest quality so you the listener have a treat in store for your ears. So sit back, put the album in the CD player and enjoy! Enough said!
