Sketch Pad is a collection of original jazz compositions by Steven Snyder and Gordon Towell. The composers and a supporting cast of amazing musicians bring these contemporary sketches into the foreground as full-fledged pieces of art. Steve Snyder - Piano Gordon Towell -Tenor Saxophone Brad Turner - Trumpet Tyrone Wheeler - Bass Jason Tiemann - Drums Steven Snyder is originally from Pittsburgh, PA where he began his study of jazz piano with Frank Cunnimondo. He has graduated from the University of North Texas with Bachelors and Masters degrees after playing in the One o'Clock Lab Band. He also holds a DMA in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. He has performed in France, Brazil, Portugal, Sweden, Finland and the United States. His work has included playing with Randy Brecker, Jerry Bergonzi, Gustavo Bergali, Brannen Temple and Blaze, and Odd Man Out as well as appearing with his own trio. Gordon Towell - Gordon Towell originally comes from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He holds a B. Ed in music education from the University of Alberta, an MM in jazz studies from Indiana University and a DME with a cognate in jazz studies from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Gordon has performed with many national and international artists, and has conducted throughout Canada and the U.S. He was the recipient of the 2001 Morehead State University's Distinguished Creative Productions Award. Special guest artist Brad Turner is from Vancouver, Canada. He is one of Canada's best-known jazz musicians. He has one multiple Juno Awards for his work with electric jazz ensemble Metalwood, and has been nominated for his acoustic jazz recordings. He holds a Bachelors degree from Western Washington University and a Masters from the University of North Texas. Brad also plays piano, bass, drums, and is well known as a composer. Jason Tiemann and Tyrone Wheeler are two of the finest jazz musicians in the Midwest. They are constantly in demand and have performed with many of the great names in jazz.
