简介
Electropop enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate, thanks to the arrival of End of Days, the new offering from Bass Kittens. Despite a 15 year career largely made up of instrumental dancefloor records, main Kitten Jon Drukman has always harbored a secret love of electronic pop music. A fortuitous Craigslist posting connected Jon with vocalist Samantha Lien to provide the angst-ridden human edge to the razor sharp sounds of his electronic wizardry. The result is an album that reverberates with the apocalyptic sentiment of its title. Boasting an array of songs concerned with female assassins, despotic rulers, government sponsored torture, and various forms of social maladroitness, this is no simple collection of love songs. Particularly memorable is the first track, Last Girl on the Moon, a hooky yet cutting track about a space explorer set adrift in a sea of instant celebrity and government cutbacks. End of Days is pop music for grown ups. Not only can you sympathise with the sentiment, you can dance to it as well.
