"Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire comes it is a tree of life." This "tree of life" describes my excitement in finally releasing this my first CD, "No Sad Songs Volume I". The songs I have written span a period of my life from approximately 1974, when I wrote "New Wind Blowing" (folk) and "Not Wasting Time" (jazz) to 2005, "Jesus Is My Song" (Rapp!) and represent time spent in God's Word and worship as well as life experiences. Musically, I have been influenced by a wide range of musical styles from my violinist father all the way to 70's Motown and I do hope the album reflects my appreciation for diverse types of music so that many different people may enjoy "No Sad Songs". After Jesus Christ came into my life He brought me JOY, hence the title!
