The album is a collection of songs recorded by Juno Award winner Melanie Doane. Her first studio album in 5 years. Having taken time to be home with her small children she’s “coming back” with a beautifully understated record that shows off her song writing, her musicianship on violin, mandolin, piano, guitar and her vocal interpretation, thru a string of stellar covers . This collection is inspired by the parental experience and was originally intended for parents, to provide them with something of a very high musical standard to play at bedtime, while standing up to the repeated listens that a child quickly grows familiar with and comforted by, and that the adult will not grow tired of (guaranteed a thousand nights!). It's turned out to have far greater appeal than simply that. It's just great music and transcends the original inspiration.
