简介
Steve Marsh lives in the beautiful central area of England known as the Peak District. He has given numerous guitar recitals throughout England including ones for the National Trust and English Heritage and various Arts Festivals plus recorded and live broadcasts for the BBC and other various radio stations. He has performed in many historic settings in the UK such as Haddon Hall, Bolsover Castle, Eyam Hall, Sudbury Hall and two concerts at Wallington Hall in Northumberland to celebrate the centenary of the National Trust and Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. Since 1981 Steve Marsh has had many books of his own compositions and arrangements published by various publishing houses around the world. These works include music for guitar solo, duo and quartet, guitar and flute and orchestra. Many of these compositions are used by guitar teachers worldwide, and have been performed by some of the leading names in the world of classical guitar including Eleftheria Kotzia, Arne Brattland, the Eastwood/Kilvington duo (who premiered Marsh's 'Clumber Rain' at the Bolivar Hall, London), and the Hill/Wiltchinsky duo (who gave the premiere of Marsh's 'Toccata' for Two Guitars in 1989). The world-renowned Montes/Kircher duo have also recorded Steve Marsh's 'Homage to Paco de Lucia' and are due to record his extended duet, 'Clumber Rain'. His compositions are included in the examination lists for the Guildhall School of Music (London) and the A.B.R.S.M. (London) and have also been used on television. In 1984 Steve Marsh was invited to join the reviewing team of the international magazine 'Classical Guitar' and has since then reviewed hundreds of new publications, recordings and concerts as well as interviews and contributing articles on technique. In late 2000 Steve Marsh played the incidental guitar music on the best selling author and Emmie award-winning playwright Deric Longden's first CD 'The Funny Thing Is...' and took part with the author on the initial ‘book-launch’ concert. In 2006 Steve began a publishing project with guitar ‘legend’ Gordon Giltrap and together they are planning to transcribe and publish all the guitar music which Gordon has written during his 40 years in the music business. The first edition, all the tracks from the best-selling album ‘Troubadour’, will be available around mid-2007. As well as solo performances, Steve Marsh regularly gives concerts with classical guitarist Gary Spolding, and folk singer Judy Dunlop.
