Charlie Angel and the Rotten Pistols debut release is a musical collaboration built on the acoustic origins of Charlie Angel's songs.  Each of the 12 songs was initially recorded acoustically and upon the decision to record them in the studio only close friends and family members were enlisted to contribute tracks to the songs. Only one of the twelve songs ("I Put a Gun to My Head ") retains its acoustic origins in the album. None of the musicians who played on the album ever played or performed these songs together yet they pieced together an album that has captured that elusive genuineness that all bands strive for when recording their music. Songs like "They Say I'm Crazy" and "After the Sun" definitely fall in the rock genre while "Goddang Girl" and "If You're Gonna Love Me" lean towards country and bluegrass influence. The ballads "You Build Fences" and "Tell Me All the Ways" are straight-ahead pop/alternative tunes that could fit on any college radio station. "Preston Brown" and "I Put a Gun to My Head" fall under the folk/singer songwriter category but all of the songs seem to share a common thread, which is the uniqueness of Charlie's vocals. His voice and his acoustic guitar style is the backbone and definitive sound of this eclectic bouquet of ditties.
