Yair Kless, violin: Born in Israel, Yair Kless studied with Israel Amidan in Tel-Aviv and with André Gertler at the Royal Conservatory and the Chapellle-Musical Reine-Elisabeth in Brussels, from which he graduated with the highest distinction. Yair Kless performs regularly in Israel, Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, USA, South America and Australia. His repertoire is large and embraces various styles, from the Baroque to contemporary. He has premiered many new compositions, some of them were written for him. The former first violin of the "Sol-La-Re" String Quartet (1980-85) and the Israel Baroque Players, he is currently active with the Tel Aviv Piano Quartet, the Modus Trio, the New Arts Trio and is a frequent sonata partner of pianists Shoshana Rudiakov (Germany), Rebecca Penneys (USA), Victor Derevianko (Israel), among others. Many students from different countries join his violin class at the S. Rubin Academy, Tel Aviv University, where he is the Chairman of the String Department and was Director from 1989- 1993. He is also Chairman of the String Department at the Chautauqua Institution, New York, USA. Since 1995 he is Professor of Violin at the Musikhochschule in Graz. He presented masterclasses in the USA, Germany, Netherlands, UK (The Yehudi Menuhin School), Finland, France, Italy, Austria, Russia (The Gnessin Institute in Moscow) and Australia. Yair Kless served as a Juror in several international contests. A number of his pupils have been recipients of awards at prestigious international violin competit Yamir Kless is the former director of the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. Shoshana Rudiakov: "A pianist of a special quality" was the first critical response to gifted young pianist Shoshana Rudiakov on the occasion of her debut in Israel. Born in Riga, Larvia, she completed her formal studies at the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Professor Jacov Flier and Bella Davidovitch. She concertized extensively in Russia before emigrating to Israel. There she was engaged as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony, Haifa Symphony and the Israel Sinfonietta as well as for public and broadcast recitals throughout Israel. Shoshana Rudiakov made her European debut in 1975 at the Royal Albert Hall in London with the New Philharmonia Orchestra, thereafter appearing in public broadcasts with the BBC and various recitals as well as orchestral performances throughout England. In 1977, she was hailed as a great discovery in Germany, where she maintains a heavy schedule of performances as soloist with the Berlin Symphony, Philharmonia Hungarica, Wuttenberg Chamber Orchestra and television and in recital. In addition to her regular appearances in Israel and her duties as Professor of Piano at the Stuttgart Conservatory, Ms. Rudiakov has recently performed in Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, the former Yugoslavia and the United States.
