Echoes Live 21 is our twenty-first edition of a live-performance compilation CD, drawn from the Echoes radio program, which airs on Public Radio and the internet. There's not a better sampling of music to display where the radio show is right now. In a two-year transition, we've reinvented Echoes as a different kind of chill show, one that holds true to ambient and electronic music, world fusion and new acoustic sounds, but which also embraces singer-songwriters and rock artists, who were influsence by the early sounds of Echoes. Some of them, like Hundred Waters, grew up listening to the show on their hometown public radio stations, others pillaged their parents' record collections to find music by artists like Echoes staples Tangerine Dream, George Winston, Philip Glass and Pat Metheny. The all converge into the sound of Echoes, and this collection is a perfect sample of that.
