After what’s been a huge 12 months, Perth soul-pop artist Teischa is excited to announce the release of her new single ‘Couldn’t Care Less’. To celebrate, the singer - who has been hailed for her live show - will play alongside Morgan Bain at the Indi Bar in Perth this Friday June 12, with more live dates to follow. Teischa is an artist on the rise who has been turning heads with her warm, soulful vocals and powerful fusion of r n’ b and electronic stylings. Possessing a unique perspective and confidence that belies her young age of 18, the artist’s depth seeps into every aspect of her music, especially her songwriting. Her love for travel and adventure stemmed from her childhood, which was spent living in a number of coastal towns in northern Australia. At the age of 11, Teischa and her family moved to Phuket, Thailand, where everyday life was a melting pot of cultures. Teischa’s passion for music was then born. At the age of 17, Teischa won the 2014 Telstra Road to Discovery, a program renowned for unearthing some of the country’s most promising talent. In February 2015, she celebrated the release of her first single, ‘Trick of the Light’, a heartfelt tale that displays a talent well beyond her years. The single debuted at #4 on the triple j Unearthed chart, and was shortly after nominated for the prestigious WAM Song of the Year. In between playing shows, including two highly acclaimed and captivating sets at Nannup Festival in WA, Teischa has been busy in the studio recording her highly anticipated debut EP with Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe). Her soon-to-be released single, ‘Couldn’t Care Less’ is an exciting taste of what’s to come.
