简介
Luke Eccles has been making music for the better part of the last two decades. He has shared the stage with Skillet, Haste the Day, Project 86, Five Iron Frenzy, Audio Adrenaline, and Jared from the Bloodhound Gang. In January 2007, Luke began his latest project, Awaking Mercury. Awaking Mercury takes the influences Luke has grown up with and the music he wrote with his previous band Dreaming Under Mercury and pushes forward creating a mature alternative rock sound that is equal parts Thrice, Further Seems Forever, and Counting Crows. On their 2010 full length, Head for the Indies, Luke and crew recorded several new tracks and some layovers from the Dreaming Under Mercury days. For the first time, Luke’s music has proper production and it showed. Then, bassist Shane Breland joined the band and brought a pop element in his style and influence that pushed Awaking Mercury’s limits further with the release of the 2013 EP, If It’s Maria, where the already mature sound of Awaking Mercury was enhanced by the radio friendly element it had previously been missing. Eccles’s mature songwriting and work under the Awaking Mercury name has continued to grow and 2014 will bring the most ambitious recordings to date. With the additions of talented drummer Dylan Whitman of Neon Gray and the recent recruitment of lead guitarist Eli Endres (formerly of NJ’s JPT), Awaking Mercury has been recording the best music of their lives. Recently having shared stages with national acts like Terrible Things, Chris Trapper of the Push Stars, Rookie of the Year, and The Company We Keep, Awaking Mercury is ready to push outside of the regional scene into your town soon. Stay tuned because this alt-rock quartet is on the verge of big things.
