I’m happy to be releasing In My Fashion – our third full length CD. This recording most closely reflects our live show. In addition to selections from the Great American Songbook, it includes two beautiful foreign songs, and the slightly goofy but oh-so-cool “O Pato.” The line-up of musicians is similar to a live show as well. Grant MacAvoy is playing drums and he also helped with the mix. Madison Rast is playing bass. I consider myself very lucky to have them both as our regular players. We had Tom Lawton join us on piano. He played on all our other recordings, and often plays with us in live performances. Having him on the recording freed up Lenny to wear his producer’s hat, and to play saxophone on a few songs. To round out the arrangements Lenny asked old friend, teacher, and mentor, Adeline Tomasone to play flute on “Ne Me Quitte Pas” and “Always True to You in My Fashion,” which immediately bumped them up a notch as far as I’m concerned. To play guitar on several tracks, and to solo so beautifully on “Solamente Una Vez” Lenny enlisted our friend, Tom Giacabetti. Fine musicians all, and so nice to work with.
