I've been a musician for as long as I can remember. I started singing on stage with the family band before age 3. By the time I turned 5, I was officially the drummer with Roland Hoffman and the Believers. It really wasn't a surprise to anyone that I decided early on that I was going to try to make music my life's work. This journey is poignantly and humorously chronicled in a book written by my sister, Konnie Hoffman Ellis. "Rory's Story" tells all about growing up one of four blind siblings, the challenges for us and our parents, as well as the victories. Memories of road trips, concerts and recording studio experiences are all vividly described. The Early Years CD will bring the pages of the book to life. Presented here are numerous songs compiled from the 5 albums we recorded from 1982 through 1987, starting with the first song I ever sang in a real recording studio at age 4. Also contained herein are selections from my sisters' project and my solo polka album, both recorded in 1991. Even without the book, this CD can stand alone as an entertaining, inspirational album. Kids will enjoy the funny, cute songs sung by myself and my brother. Parents and grandparents will appreciate the wholesome music and family values promoted throughout. It's just a fun, quality CD.
