Grim Avenue are a Electro Disco project based in San Diego, US, formed by Rob DeSisto (programming, DJ, beats, synths), Laura Elizabeth (vocals, keys) and Darià Artiolal (vocals, synths, keys, guitar, e-drums). “Jupiter” is their new single on Emerald & Doreen: a deep, atmospheric, laid-back handclap indiehouse masterpiece to make your feet lose touch with the ground. On top of “Jupiter”, Grim Avenue convince with “Wandering Albatross”, a hard-hitting new wave house hymn with that carries strong 80s references with its cool vocals and vocoder effects. The “Jupiter” Remixes are simply stunning: new Deep House superstar David Bucka adds some funky bassline verve and dark string melancholy to take “Jupiter” quietly to the deep house and to release it as smooth dancefloor weapon of love there. Rubberlips’ took some energy pills already, their remix sounds like the Chemical Brothers met with Jean-Michel Jarre in an overdrive disco in space, this is such an outstanding composition, complex, dense, driving, with an amazing bass guitar in the end, it deserved an release on its own ;). Lenny & Nemelka put the minimal techno funk in the tank, enough to reach the “Jupiter” orbit easily. go nogo turn it into a 90s indie song while giving it a dancy New Order vibe, enriched with a slight 70s Psychedelia touch. Sircle’s version closes the dance party with perfect minimalistic Balearic sunrise dub techno, for the early mornings under the stars, looking for Jupiter, while we carry this wonderful package of music safely in our pockets.
