From the haunting melodies of the "Stamenphone" (a 16 string harmonic sculpture played with a cello bow) to the whirling soundscapes of the "Rumitones" (spinning percussion instruments) and "bellwheels" (revolving xylophone sculptures), this recording is an evocative journey into the unique musical world of Ela Lamblin. Not only did Ela compose and perform the music, he also designed and built each of the 15 instruments used. In addition, Bill Moyer provides tabla and percussion accompaniment.
