简介

SEVEN SONGS was produced and engineered at Soundwave Studio, Nashville, by Richard Adler (Allison Krauss/Neil Young/Natalie Cole, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Doc Watson, Marty Stuart). In his own words: "Real musicians playing real drums, bass, and guitars provide an earthy palette of support, all the while staying within the bounds of elegant simplicity and focus on Beth's words. A breath of fresh air to those who are tired of drum machines and unreal, unidentifiable synthesized instruments." Vocals and Piano: Beth Sass Acoustic and Electric Guitars: John Mahoney Bass: Scott Lilliott Drums and Percussion: Kathy Burkly Background vocal: Sally Jones Organ: Steve Conn Mastered at Americana Mastering, Nashville, by John Eberle. This week (Feb 21) we've fallen to #64, but we're still receiving rotation on many stations...Some of our biggest supporting/reportng stations have been Twangcast, KFAN, KCUV, WGCS, WDVR, WRIU, WHAY to name a few." ryan hoffer shuteyerecords.com January 2005: Various Artists "The United State of Americana" "This release is currently at #61 on the R&R / AMA Americana chart. It hit #81 in it's second week on the charts and debuted at #138. It was the #5 most added disc to Americana radio it's first week. This disc is currently spinning on TwangCast.com, KAXE, KCUV, KDNK, KFAN, KPFA, KRCL, KRFC, KUSH, KVNF, KXCI, KZUM, KZSU, Western Beat, WERU, WHAY, WJJC, WRIU, WVMR, WVLS, WCHG, CountryBear.com and many more!" January 2005: "Wanted to let everyone know that the United State of Americana Vol. 1 is progressing with generous vitality and certainly no dearth of applause. If last week's #138 debut and Top 4 Adds wasn't good enough, then I bring you more good news. For the week of January 17, the USOA has moved up to #81 on the 650-high chart. Yup, that's right, we broke the Top 100!" Ryan Hoffer ryan@shuteyerecords.com www.shuteyerecords.com Jan 2005: "I'd like to let everyone know that the United State of Americana is off to a great start! It's just starting to get listened to and this week (Jan 10) we entered the AMA chart (www.americanaradio.org) at #138 (though we are actually somewhere in the 120's, but there was an error in this weeks' report) - which is the highest we've ever entered the chart. We also received Top 5 adds for the week, tied next to Jack Johnson (yeah...odd definition of Americana). To boot, RW Shamy of Twangcast.com called it the "best cross-section of Americana" he'd ever heard on one disc. Anyways, we're continually getting good comments and "adds" from Music Directors and look to have more airplay coming our way. Can't wait til next weeks' stat's. Thanks for helping make a wonderful compilation that people are really getting into." Ryan Hoffer ryan@shuteyerecords.com www.shuteyerecords.com Ryan Hoffer, A&R, Shut Eye Records, Inc, says: "Upon listening to "Seven Songs", I was reminded of that honest, organic sound similar to that of artists like Mary Lou Lord or Patti Smith. That being said, you are able to maintain your individuality by blending a myriad of influences and forging an eclectic take on the singer/songwriter genre. This can definitely be heard in songs like "I Forgive Myself" and "Dying Breed". I love the twangy Emerson, Lake and Palmer-ishintro in "I Forgive Myself". This wry little shanty then continues via crisp acoustics atop drving cadence- very catchy.I must say, though, that "Stampede" is probably my favorite song off the album. Again, another flawless intro with escalating electric lead atop the backing guitars. This song has just the type of melody that leaves an impression on first-time listeners. All in all, "Seven Songs" radiates with pastoral goodness and boasts of proficient songwriting. We here at Shut Eye would love to feature you...". "NAOMI" SHINES ON GARAGEBAND.COM!!!!!!!
