Bryson Waind is a Niagara based folk and country singer. He started his musical career as the front man for the non-traditional bluegrass band: The Cuds. While with The Cuds, Waind undertook his first serious recording project, which resulted in the LP: The Taste of Crow. All the songs on the album were written by Waind and he performs many of them today. In 2006 Waind began to perform solo shows in a singer-songwriter style. Later that year he formed a country band called The Second Cousins. In 2007 The Cuds were invited to open for The Tennessee Three at Lee’s Palace in Toronto, and disbanded in September of that year. Bryson Waind continued to perform on his own, and with The Second Cousins. In 2008 he released the album Bryson Waind Live at Pan, recorded at St. Catharines’ Pan Cafe. Later that year he began performing country duets with pianist and singer Miriam Miller and formed another bluegrass band, this time called The High Wire String Band. In 2009 he undertook his first solo studio recording project. He calls it ‘Grape Country,’ and it features players from both his country band and his bluegrass band. The combination of acoustic instruments with a rock solid rhythm section delivers a folk style country record which highlights Waind’s brilliant songwriting and his ability to harness the Canadian folk sound.
