✦ Drum lessons at age 7 thru 14 ✦ Self-taught in bass guitar – guitar – mandolin ✦ Studied violin for 2 years ✦ Performed with many original bands both on Long Island and N.Y.C. Also 2 cover bands “East Coast”, “Hollywood Knights” Played bass guitar with “Man-ster,” a famous Long Island Jazz Rock Fusion Group which was popular in N.Y.C. and the C.B.G.B. Club. “Man-ster” appeared on the “Live at C.B.G.B.’s” recording which was distributed by Atlantic Records. Man-ster then signed a production deal with Genya Ravan (“Ten Wheel Drive”), on her own record label, Polish Records. Also signed to her label, was Ronni Spector, who I had the opportunity to play with. Genya was close to some the of the “Saturday Night Live” crew of the time, especially the late Gilda Radner who loved her record label and Man-ster’s unique sound. Keeping in touch with Hilly Krystal, owner of C.B.G.B.’s, I performed at the club with two of my own original bands – “T.V.M.D.” and “Pets on the Couch”. T.V.M.D. was second headliner for “The Bongos” opening shows at several larger Long Island clubs. During this time period (early 80’s) I had the opportunity to play bass in an acoustic trio named “Robal” which starred two other members from “Man-ster”. “Robal” was managed by Bruce Springsteen’s former manager, Mike Appel who financed the project intended to be released on Columbia Records. After years of musical – medical – and family tragedies, my living spirit has come forth with “Life Rock” – an eclectic compilation of music styles, tones, tambers, and provocative poetry – a minstrel waterfall. Recorded by a personal creation “The Planeteers,” “Life Rock” mirrors our peaks and valleys – realities – fantasies, the good and evil of life on Planet Earth and beyond.
