It took 4 years for us to finally come up with this album. We have tried very hard to express as honestly as we could, our walk with Christ, our struggle, our optimism, our faith and to personify the Word of God through music. Vusi Gcabashe is a 33 year old life enthusiast, born in Senaoaane and grew up in Phiri, Vosloorus. He is a born-again Christian, humble and an activist of the arts. This singer, songwriter and vocal arranger’s love for music sparked from an early age when he got exposed to his uncle’s LPs and cassettes and he has been actively singing since 1995. Vusi was part of a school choir and in the early 90’s, when there was a BoysIIMen craze. He formed a group which mimed in local competitions around the East Rand. He also joined a Church choir that did contemporary Gospel music, and soon became the choir leader, wrote songs and helped with re-arranging old hymns. He has worked with numerous artists including the likes of Kelly Khumalo, Max-Hoba, Tuks, Shuggasmaxx, Nothende, Thiwe, HHP, Zola Soul and Futshane. He has also performed extensively in major festivals in the country such as the Macufe 2010, Road to Joy of Jazz 2012, Joy of Jazz 2013, just to name a few. Recently, he has featured on Reloaded’s debut project (AM-PM productions), and Dj13’s house project (House Ministries). He has a song “Mntan’omuntu” featured on a localy produced movies, Bhuti Madlisa (1&2), and is currently working with KABOMO, ZOLASOUL FUTSHANE, BRIAN TEMBA and GBCOLLECTIVE on their live performances. He has also emceed at Bebe Winans’ Live Recording in SA and Kem’s 2-Legged JHB Concert in September 2014. a His passion for storytelling has seen him expand his talents to radio and television. He joined Kasie FM (community radio station in Ekurhuleni) in 2009 and has since grown; and now is the host of Deliverance, a Christian radio show airing every Sunday evening between 6pm and 9pm. He recently joined EkTV where he presents a Christian lifestyle magazine show, TheGospelTruth and has already started producing the show. With the imminent release of his album “It Is Written”, he focuses solely on telling the good news about Jesus Christ. It is worthy to note that all his songs are originally written songs and the album is produced by him, together with Mpho Kodisang and Lungile Maduna.
