简介
To conclude their opening 4-track offering, Autre Monde will release Village of Loomers, the remaining song the band recorded with Daniel Fox of Girl Band in the spring of this year. It is a something of a curiosity for the band, being as it is an 'indie ballad' with spluttering guitar, quiet bits, loud bits and so on. According to the band, it nevertheless stands on its own merits as a "good song". If you like rousing choruses tempered by well-judged noise and an engaging, actorly lead vocal, then you're reading the right press release. Autre Monde are a band from Dublin, the conception of Padraig Cooney (bass/synth/backing vocals) and featuring Paddy Hanna on lead vocals, Mark Chester on guitar and Eoghan O'Brien on drums. Members have variously featured in Land Lovers, No Monster Club, Skelocrats, Ginnels and Paddy Hanna (the solo singer). Their first three singles, Customs, New Recruit and I Want My Enemies to Prosper, were championed by Nialler9 ("a delight"), The Irish Times ("displaying a fine-line of early-1980s-inspired rock"), State.ie ("immediate sophistication") and The Thin Air ("as debut material goes, this is as good as it gets").
