Chris Ho Quartets Volume 3 This set of quartet jazz is the most romantic so far, possibly because of the bossa novas which tend to be more about love than war. The swingtime tracks are also very melodic, all original and not as edgy as the previous two quartet volumes. Like the cover artwork the music is contemporary but not cold, smooth and easy listening yet not entirely predictable or archival. Romantic, easy, warm, earthy and a nice contrast to all the raining jazz before and after.... Lydia Uptempo samba fusion piece featuring Chan on guitar, Dr Matt bass, Renick drums and CH piano. Exciting, driving, animated, adventurous and fun. Midopa After the soft piano intro the track takes off into a medium uptempo jazz groove. Positive, uplifting, blue note and fearless outing. Keep The Boss Happy Another pretty bossa with the same cats playing again... Relaxing, breezy, romantic and feel good. Miso Medium fast jazztime with guest guitarist Michael O'Neill on this driving, fearless, bluesy adventure. Let Me In The fourth latin groove but maybe the prettiest of them all.
