简介
A last ditched attempt to save a relationship...Last Romance is the new single from Dead Parties, a summer pop gem with walls of guitar and a playful hook. It was mixed by Paul Quinn from Teenage Fanclub fame, who also played drums on the song. It has already received extensive airplay on national Spanish radio and has just been included on the Rock For Nepal benefit compilation, through Patetico Records in the US. Dead Parties is the project of Australian Etienne Mamo, singer and songwriter for The New Black. With this band he toured the east coast of Australia, supporting bands such as Urge Overkill (US), Red Riders, Midnight Juggernauts, Diamond Nights (US), The Pictures, The Grates and British India. They had several releases and received airplay nationally, including rotation on Triple J. In 2007 The New Black were nominees for the Music Oz Song of The Year and Band Of The Year. Dead Parties sees Etienne explore his love for shoegaze, indie and psychedelia, experimenting with layered guitars, vocals, percussion and noise. He is influenced by bands such as Teenage Fanclub, The Black Angels, The Doors, My Bloody Valentine, BRMC, The Kinks, Mazzy Star, BJM amongst others. Take Control was released as part of the 200,000 Gazes compilation in the US through When The Sun Hits. In Dreams Of Decadence, was included on Psychedelia 5 in April 2013 through Northern Star Records (UK). Dead Parties released their first ep entitled Tribe in October 2013 to rave reviews and support for Jacco Gardner. The next single, Disappear, was released in May 2014 exclusively on national Radio 3 in Spain, before receiving a general release. They were also chosen as support act for The Raveonettes in Barcelona and also Wye Oak. They will again play alongside legendary outfit The Telescopes in October.
