My music has often been described as 'Driven Folk' music. I really enjoy writing about our local history as well as collective history. My motto is 'if you want to know where you are going, you need to find out from where you have come'. The music is always original although I have been known to translate a poem from the 1800s to music for people to hear in a different format. A typical example of this would be the song 'Flowers in a Basket' which came from an early Adam Lindsay Gordon poem and was featured in our doco called Rider and Writer. Another thing about my music is that it varies: usually ballads as well as more upbeat.
