WHAT THE SONGS ARE ABOUT FOUR WORLDS This song is about four guys coming together to create one. This song has a lot of meaning because it took so very long to find a combination that worked and this came together by accident and so very quickly we did not know what we had until some six months later at a show when some fans came up and said you guys compliment each other so well and you are so tight and sound so good and one girl said its like four worlds collided and formed one…. the rest is history. WINTER ROSE This song can mean so many things to so many different people because of the context used to write it. However the song is about a relationship gone bad but it is metaphorically compared to winter and cold almost a heartless combination in itself, everyone has had these and every rock band known to man has written one of these songs, for us it has no significant individual in mind just a look at relationships past for each one of us and realizing we all have had one or two or maybe even three of these!!!! GUILTY Here is a song that simply says it all with no metaphors and no intertwined lyrics or hidden messages. Exactly what you hear is what it is about!!! This song is about feeling guilty for lying about certain things all through your life, its almost an apology type anthem or last rites blessing, for those feeling old or looking at their past wanting so badly to clean it up and make peace with everyone and everything. Sitting there feeling guilty about the things you did to other people and to yourself and to your parents etc. We have all been here especially with school reunions when we see people we treated badly when we were kids and now as adults we are ashamed of our behavior as kids, this is sort of a way to say sorry in a song. I FEEL ALIVE This song was co-written lyrically between Joey Menicola the singer and Jeremy Burke the drummer what Jeremy may have had in mind probably got changed in the re write, Joey writes all the lyrics for the songs, but shared this one to see where it would go. This song is now about a relationship that never was a relationship, as the story goes she is the advice giver the comforter the go to gal and he falls for her and even though her advice is awesome she does not follow her own advice atleast not in this case and never shows interest more than just friendship and he believes else wise and she now the villain, because she can advise him, coddle him, and be there for him but not as a girlfriend just a girl that’s a friend and that is un acceptable in this tale for him LIFE OF MINE Here is a song that was re written thirty two thousand times lol yes a lot!!! because this was very personal and there needed to be a way to say it but not actually say what. This song is about change in life and how everything changes whether we want it to or not and whether we actually see it or not it still changes. Change is hard sometimes for all and it is good for some and bad for some but in this case this song is simply about the “Change” itself not the result not even the reason, just the process itself. Everyone’s life changes as they grow up and grow older that’s a fact and this song is a heads up to that notion. SAY IT TO MY FACE Does this song even need to be explained?? The typical story about the guy who talks behind your back and is too cowardly to say it to your face. It could also mean someone who double talks you, they say one thing to someone else and tells you another very different story to protect or enhance the rep of the person telling it, but a realistic look at it says this person never has the courage to be himself hence never having the courage to say it straight up to someone what ever it is. This is the person who started the roaming rumor that by the time it gets back to you the story is so embellished that you do not even realize that you were the one who started the tale. HIT & RUN Calling all traffic accidents… This song is simple and convicting ..Literally lol this is about hitting a pedestrian while driving. A girl who was hopped up on some kind drug wandered out and walked toward the road where there was a low bushy tree where she came out and no shoulder on a very bad curve. The moment she stepped out from being almost hidden by the tree she was hit and the person driving though it thought it was just a low branch of the tree hanging down into the curve until the car behind him pulled him over quite forcefully and told him. The outside passenger mirror hit the girls arm with such force that it spun her around and knocked her on the ground. Her arm was swollen and looked bad but the drugs she was already on were numbing the pain so for a hundred dollars cash and the offering of a hand or blow job to make it one hundred fifty she was dropped at a friends house and never seen again, as for the blow job or hand job you decide it may be hidden in the lyrics somewhere. A PART OF ME HAS DIED TONIGHT Very sad for most, this song is about letting go. A part of life is death we are never prepared for it, we never expect it in some cases, and we all do not want it but the fact still remains that we all have a path and when it ends so do we. This song particularly was about the loss of a pet, a pet that was very close to its owner and its passing was by euthanizing, and not natural as hoped it would, all so sudden and with very little overlooked warning signs. It happened the same day as a big show was to go on that evening and the show went off with out a hitch and was firing on all cylinders but the twisting and turning of ones stomach knowing that when the lights go down and the music stops and the crowds go home you go home to a now full fledged memory. This song has many many meanings to many many people but our meaning was the loss of a very close pet it was a dog rest in peace Bourbon. METALS EDGE Originally written in about 1989 it has stayed with us forever it is only now that we believe it will work in today’s genre. It’s about living on the edge of a breakdown with all the temptations in your head and all around you, the message here is set it all free, release the burdens live clean no worries. It is the struggle to do this that makes this song as strong today as it was in 1989. It has been sampled by many and changed around by many more but this version is the actual version and simply means your living your life on life’s edge and you need to set your demons free so you can live again free of the burdens that live throws at you. WHY Originally appearing on the 2000 release demo “Why Not” this song was the second of five demo songs released on that cd. It was not however the release and this was a choice of the bands singer, but it was the title of the demo cd. Why is about a relationship (nothing new) one that needs repair. Both parties are willing by neither knows how to fix it so in the heat of battle they will split but still ask those haunting questions like “did you love me? Please I have to know”, do you want me anymore?? “Why” is about relationship turbulence, doubting, second guessing, suspecting etc all those things that could cause trouble and always do. This song was written while an actual break up was happening the guitarist took a break walked outside and came back with the riff the singer put a temporary scratch vocal line to it and in 20 minutes they had a song for polishing. The relationship in question did fix itself but is no longer affiliated with the band. STREEY WISE GUY This song was originally written a very long time ago as well but only musically a member had joined the band and had some music none of his other singers could write to so he gave it to Joey and Street Wise Guy is born. This song is about catching, convicting, sentencing, and destroying the life of a drug dealer!!! This song was written out of sheer desire to speak up about it. Drugs at the time of this songs origin were in high flow and dealers were cocky and even when they began to crack down the dealers found a way by using kids as liaisons so the kids would get a slap on the wrist while the dealers would move on and re recruit. This song is simply about putting an end to it all one by one. The dealer in this song went down and still has not seen the light of day. HIGH AND DRY This song is about a former member who left the band at its first peek way back when!!! He decided to move on after the death of his father and settle some things going on in his life his business and marriage. As it would happen he was asked in the middle of leaving us to consider his old band and he declined but would eventually take them up on it and it would come to look like he left us for them and we were on the verge of the next level and they were just looking to jam, so this song come to pass, written in the early eighties originally by our current and only guitarist with no lyrics he brought it to Joey and the rest is history When the Winter Rose saga began we knew not where it would take us but with alot of time, and effort, and good solid material, and the inner talent of the band Winter Rose has persevered!!!!
