By mixing a message of fun and craziness along with responsibility and Eco-friendliness, he is taking a very unconventional approach to showing people of all ages how they can enjoy their everyday life. "We all affect the world around us by our thoughts, words & actions. If we choose to be kind and show love to the world around us, our world will constantly become a more pleasant place to be!" says Muck. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Muck Sticky comes from a long line of musicians. His great-grandparents founded one of the first gospel bluegrass quartets in 1929 known as The Wayfaring Strangers, and both of his grandfathers were well known musicians. One was Gene Lowery of The Dixie Four who often recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, and sang with artists like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Charlie Rich. Muck began his own music career, playing violin at the young age of seven. Growing up in church he learned to sing hymns, and often joined in when his family would sing and play guitars & banjos. He was home-schooled until the age of twelve. The only group classes he took were P.E., Music & Drama. He nurtured his acting skills by starring in plays like Anne of Green Gables and A Christmas Carol. He also flourished in his studies since he was able to focus on them in the quiet environment of his home. In his teens Muck joined a few friends in creating a sketch comedy show for the local cable access channel called “Pointless”, which included several music videos of parodies to rap songs. Muck is a member of MENSA. When he was twelve he attended a local junior college where he developed a great interest in public speaking. He was inspired by a hilarious professor, who spent most of the class period telling funny stories about being a rock musician. Muck also enjoyed hanging out at the billiard lounge on campus. There he became friends with a group of poker players who nicknamed him “Doogie” because of his young age. Being surrounded by a more mature circle of friends, he gained great social skills along with his education. After junior college, he went on to study Psychology at the University of Memphis. Once he finished, Sticky felt compelled to take what he learned through is education and life experiences, and interweave them amongst comical songs in an uplifting manor. Between the age of sixteen & twenty three, Muck was employed in many different jobs including carpentry, restaurant chef, bricklaying, life guard, and ice cream truck driver. In the year 2000, with money he earned from his manual labor jobs, he bought an 8-track recorder and began creating what would eventually become his first album. In January of 2001 he gave his first live performance at a battle of the bands concert in Memphis, TN. Since Muck recorded all of his songs alone, he decided to attach wigs, sunglasses, and fake instruments to six foot tall floor lamps and call them his “band”. To this day he believes they were vital in winning 2nd place that night. After performing a few more shows, he added the rest of the group. These days Muck’s performance range includes large scale theatrical productions, hip-hop dance shows, and acoustic stand-up comedy. Since 2004 Muck has released ten albums, accumulated over eleven million song & video downloads, performed thousands of shows for millions of fans, garnished numerous industry accolades, and has appeared on screen/stage with Lady Gaga, Cee Lo Green, Santana, Shinedown, Adam Lambert, Kesha, Katy Perry, Fergie, Snoop Dogg, Colbie Caillat, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Dave Chappelle, and many more. His eleventh album “Hullabaloo” is now available. Well-recognized for his colorful sense of style as a recording artist, director of his own music videos, and fashion oddity who primarily wears pajama pants, Muck Sticky will continually bring feel-good music and smiles to the world forever!
