After one massive 17 hour recording session and long nights of post-production, EMBER OCEANS is proud to release their first EP, CHROMATIC. Fusing together the sounds of classic rock and new-age alternative, CHROMATIC is a record for hardcore and casual music fans alike. Each track contains a unique take on modern music, stirring the souls of listeners both old and young. Through the collaboration of four young and passionate musicians, the record defines their intense musical abilities and surreal mindset. Starting with a reflective, psychedelic introduction track "Ace Ventura", CHROMATIC begins to evolve. "Grace" utilizes catchy guitar soloing and punching synthesizer to force the melody into the listener's cranium. "Thief in the Evening" crescendos into an orchestra of crashing drum beats and powerful vocals, showcasing the band's control over their dynamics. The next track, "Melt For You", impressively features lead guitarist Joseph Cox on lead vocals; another clear example of the band's diverse talent. Beginning with smooth guitar work and a funky bass line, the song quickly becomes a head-bobbing, alternative-rock anthem. The EP closes with the final song, "Baltimore", bringing the music back to its bluesy roots. Sweeping rhythm changes and classical guitar work forces this song to stick out as a highlight on the record, serving as the epitome of EMBER OCEANS' masterful songwriting. The EP also includes two live acoustic bonus tracks that were squeezed into the tight recording process. The tracks display the versatility and creativeness of the band's music and members, and close the record on a warm and contemplative note.
