Suitcase and Guitar in Hand is an EP album inspired by a 10,000 mile journey across the United States. In the summer of 2015, Mike Dunbar and fellow guitarist Collin Garcia set out on a sweeping cross-country road trip. Their goal: to encounter America through its music. They visited Nashville, New Orleans, the Mississippi Delta, Memphis, Chicago, and San Francisco, where they gave performances and explored local music cultures. Along the way, Mike published a travel blog at suitcaseandguitar.com. The experience has culminated in the release of Dunbar’s first solo EP, Suitcase and Guitar in Hand, which captures the experience of discovering America on the road.
