The Jazz musician Christian Eckert and his „’68 childhood“. Jazz guitar und sound artificer Christian Eckert, being grown-up in direct contact within the APO (the extra-parliamentary opposition political movement) in Frankfurt/Germany (e.g. Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Joschka Fischer), reflects this childhood with fragmentary sound documents (Rudi Dutschke and others)... Though he does not remain indulging in reminisce, but keeps looping and razing current political incidents, scientific theories as well as russian fairy tales through his (digital) machines. The combination of the two of them might be slightly irritating at first sight. Fairy tales are being told in different languages; children from Baslan are being recorded at their first day at school; the origin of black holes is being reflected on and Bagdad is being bombed while Bush is talking about the retrieval of universal peace. kids as well as grown-ups will take a fancy to it! The freedom of Jazz meets the free flowing fancyful world of children. Wandering between yesterday and today, grave and bright, fine and rough elements, real instrumnets and voices and computer generated sounds, creating a musical sound collage with almost vividly structures... The album is complemented by an exceptional artwork by the famous Janosch in the form of a book him from 1971 included as digibook (this book being out of stock for more than 30 years till now...), which supports the psychedelic Jazz/Polit/Dada-Music-Collage inbetween drifting dreans and scraping alertness...
