简介
Kukuri's first full-length album "WORSHIPPER" is finally released. Three years have passed since the release of the mini-album "Undefined", and the band has become more mature in terms of both music and performance. Although the conception and production of this work had been proceeding in parallel with the aforementioned "Undefined," as is well known, the world changed drastically at the beginning of 2020. We, who had been mainly active in the "real world," were deprived of physical contact with the outside world, as well as with our members, and were forced to search for new means and systems. We began to work in a way that had never been done before, with online meetings and the exchange of demo sound files via data, and at first we were frustrated by the lack of communication and a sense of speed. However, after patiently holding discussions, we arrived at a point of agreement. It was to "break away from realism". The band members decided to take advantage of the impracticality of recording on stage, let alone getting together for a live performance, and to create music in a way that could not be reproduced in a conventional band format. For example, the first track "Echo Chamber" is built around synthesizers throughout, and "Old Sticker" has a bold drum soundtrack that is processed to give it an industrial rock feel. The album is sprinkled with unprecedented approaches and a playful spirit in many places. In addition, half of the compositions on this album were written by members other than Shun, making for a diverse lineup. However, I would like to add that Kukuri strived to achieve a perfect balance, never deviating from its original goal of "light heaviness" with singing at its core.
