Shaunna Heckman has been a performer in Duluth, MN and the surrounding area since 2000. Shaunna’s sound has evolved over the years, beginning as a singer in an acoustic duo when she was 15 years old, busking in her hometown of Bayfield, WI. Between 2000-2010 Shaunna brought piano back into her life and was a part of many different musical ensembles and genres, as well as a solo performer. In 2005 she released a self-titled EP with musician/mandolin player Erik Berry of Trampled by Turtles. In 2011 she recorded at Sacred Heart Studio in Duluth, MN and released ‘Saturn Return’ through Spinout Records, which was part of a pop/rock project she had formed in 2010.

Between 2011 and 2014 Shaunna took some time off from the performance world. She got married and had a baby boy in the summer of 2012. During this time she focused on motherhood and soon realized that having her creative outlet was just as important and something she wanted her young son to be exposed to as well.

Currently Shaunna is creating dream pop, modern electronica music- a style she has resonated with and wanted to create since she was a teenager when exposed to artists such as Paul Oakenfold, The Cocteau Twins and Enya. It has taken different musical paths, networking, research and development to get to a place in which she and her team of musicians can create this music. Things have changed as she has moved away from playing the keyboard, focusing more on vocal technique with effects processors and creating ethereal soundscapes with a synthesizer. Sometimes, she is backed by a core group of musicians that include piano, cello, guitar, bass, and live percussion, but more often than not you will see her perform as a duo, maybe a trio. Performances typically involve set installations and futuristic apparel to assist in creating an environment that leaves the listener awe struck, and yet in a dreamy state. Shaunna's music is often compared to artists such as Lana Del Rey, Beach House, iamamiwhoami, Emilie Nicolas and Lou Rhodes. She continues to explore different ways in which she can culminate electronic beats and classic instrumentation to create unique, melodic, ambient tones.
