Sydney five-piece Dusker come armed with clean guitar lines, piano plinky bits and an arsenal of swelling harmonies. Drawing artfully from folk, country, and indie pop influences, they create a seamless mix of organic acoustica and a dirtier sound and are gearing up for the release of their first full length album, "98 Beats of a Rapid Heart", following on from their 2009 EP "We Flew Into The Updraft". With a nest full of buzzy songs opening their eyes and squinting in the dust, Dusker aims to capture the sounds of their environment. Quiet air in the hills. Throwing stones into a lake. Dry heat as you make your way through a canyon. Dark drunken nights in the city. Expect sweet melodies backed by dreamy lyrics, hiding raw and curious tales. Dusker’s influences mostly lie amongst the earnest folk sensibilities of The Decemberists and Sufjan Stevens, tied into the classic harmony-driven bandpop of Fleetwood Mac, with room to spare for the sprawling guitarscapes of U2.
