简介
Tina Jackson, NAACP Image Award-winning vocalist and stage performer is totally at home on stage or in the studio. This farmer's daughter began singing and writing music around age 4, self-accompanying with knee slapping, foot stomping, hand clapping, and occasional melodrama. Influenced by her father Henry E. Jackson, whose lyrical tenor strains filled the house daily with Negro spirituals, gospel, and blue grass, sweetly ending the evening with lullabies of " Nothin' But The Baby." Lucille Lytle, her aunt, packed Tina along as she toured with the gospel ensemble "Sacred Aires" occasionally featuring little Tina (then 4 years old) singing the popular '50's gospel song "Lead Me." Traditionally, Tina has written songs from her heart, playing acoustic guitar and pounding out melodies on the piano, performing her originals in coffeehouses, and small intimate venues. As her career in music and theater developed, she eventually began writing songs for other performers. "Songs In The Key Of Me," is a return to her roots. Although Tina bills as a solo artist, every project and concert proudly screams "ensemble." Each player, singer and engineer, pull together, take ownership, and bring the intricate essentials and extraordinary talent that formed all that they do into a true work of art. The evolution of the unique and trademarked style, Tina calls Gorilla Opera / World Rock Fusion, include rudimentary rock influenced by blues, jazz, gospel, and blue grass, with inter-continental accents. All songs on this project were written by Tina Jackson, and produced and arranged by Peter Dobson, who is also the source of the exceptional guitar work on this recording. Tina says "The joy of making this CD is equaled only by the joy of sharing it." Enjoy. You can hang out with Tina in Los Angeles California, as she plays Authentic Vintage Electric Blues with her buddies from Robbie King & The Blues Counts as well as her lightly plugged Americana Original Trio called No Hiding Place with Ruben & Steve Artea.
