简介
Since releasing Bedroom Rockstar in 2004 and Unfortunate Son in 2005, he received glowing reviews from around the globe: Americana UK called Mayone "a master songsmith," Miles of Music declared that "[Mayone] crafts and moulds his stories eloquently and intelligently," while Panartist said "each track is a bullet of well crafted sophisto folk-pop." He's toured to support both CDs in Ireland and England, as well as touring Germany with Todd Thibaud. When home in Boston he shares the stage and studio with such talents as Dave Mattacks, Levon Helm, Jimmy Ryan, Duke Levine, Bow Thayer, and Kris Delmhorst. In 2006 he released Understories, a DIY, made at home effort that allowed him to display his talents for folksy, finger picked pop/rock ballads that subtly support his clever and timely lyrics. Mayone's adeptness at adapting and channeling Americana roots music is apparent from Understories opening track "Appalachian Drift", which sounds like an old, scratchy 78 that was found in someone's attic. Shindig said of him "Whatever style he plays in, Mayone has a knack for a good tune.” This third CD proves his versatility and furthers his rise as one of America's most compelling songwriters. Steve is presently at work on the follow-up to "Unfortunate Son". Titled "Longplay Record", it will be released in March 2009.
