Mad City Tragedy is Tom's 5th studio album that is not just self-produced CD, but, he played everything on the project. Which is a first for Tom in doing absolutely everything you hear on the project. The album is filled with songs that embrace every aspect of life: joy, heartbreak, happiness, sadness, love, death, and hope. Tom has found a way not only to mix musical influences into something new all his own, but write songs that touch the heart in compelling ways. The concept for Mad City Tragedy started on April 18th, 2010 when Tom decided to record a project where he would do everything entirely by himself. Having already produced all of his albums up to this point, he understood the challenge ahead. Granted, he thought the project would be worked on "on and off" again for around year before being completed. But the inspiration flowed and between the months of March and June 2010 he wrote 9 new songs and recorded 10. The final and last song to be recorded (For the Better) was an older song he ran across and knew it's home was written in the stars to be on Mad City Tragedy. There is something magical about the album you can't put your finger on. After one listen to Mad City Tragedy you'll notice a contrast between all the songs on the project, but that they all cohesively fit together like peanut butter and jelly.
