Frank Winter aka Bratislava based UK folk songwriter Andrew Hillard spent three months hidden away in a basement crafting the 10 songs that make up The Western Sky. Recorded on a portastudio with one microphone, many of these songs were captured at the moment of creation and are immediate and intimate; rich in emotion without being overly sentimental and delivered with a steady don’t give up attitude. Simple spare acoustic guitar and a soulful voice with minimal accompaniment from violin, electric guitar and piano combined with that home recorded feeling of being there allowing the melody and thought provoking words to etch a groove in your head and heart.
