简介
For an artist like Jesse Lee, songwriting tends to be an immediate response to the world in which he sees, touches and feels. Many years of wandering around the world searching for a home is what has helped Jesse create this excellent and textured album. You'd have to have walked to the edge with him to truly understand it all, but lyrically and musically, Jesse Lee's songs are perfectly accessible. Many songs take on the simple longings of life and love. A life less ordinary seems to be his will, yet he secretly longs to be just like you. Themes of home are trickled through the songs. Where is home? Is it real? Is it attainable? Once you've left home can you ever really come back? "Everybody's a Transient, ain't nobody with a home" he sings on the title track "Transient" a country/bluegrass gem that is so catchy, you'll have to pull the hook from your lip. Some songs tackle relationships, which we all know aren't always perfect. "I'll try to keep myself together, I'll try not to suffer through the bad weather" he sings on the aptly titled "I'll Try" about his efforts to maintain throughout life's ups and downs. Other songs are just pure fun... "When I saw you dressed in leather, your cheap perfume, well my brothers had never seen the likes of you..." from the rollicking bluegrass tune "Never Be Again". The most amazing thing about this album is its sonic diversity. Jesse Lee's many influences are apparent. Pop Music, Rock n' Roll, Country, Bluegrass, Americana and even Urban. There is something in it for everyone. Not to mention, the list of players is incredible. Mike West (multi-instrumentalist/producer) and his wife Katie Euliss on bass guitar from the wildly popular band Truckstop Honeymoon paint glorious harmonic pictures with their colorful musical talents. Also, Jesse tapped the rock solid Colin Mahoney (drums/percussion) to create the rhythmic backbone of the record with Katie on bass. With an exceptional team of musicians, solid acoustic guitar work and a knack for great songwriting, Jesse Lee's debut album "Transient" is a real treat for your ears. You will love it, guaranteed.
