This CD was recorded in 2001 - two months after Kellie started playing guitar again after a hiatus due to injury. Kellie Lin is now touring extensively in the Northeast and Midwest in support of the new record, Comfortable. For details, check out her website: www.kellielinknott.com. From the Listeners: "Truly a star in the making. Her creative, entertaining patter was some of the best I've heard..." -Wendy Vickers, Local Blend Newsletter "At a very tender age, Kellie Lin has the chops and demeanor of a seasoned professional. A powerful guitar player with a sweet voice that improves every time she performs, she is destined to turn heads and perk ears up wherever she appears. Hers is a must see show!" -Wayne Hamilton, Just Plain Folks MN "I listen to many of the songwriters in the area, and Kellie stands out as one of the best. Only a few study the craft of songwriting and take their songs to where the potential exists. Kellie is one of those few superbly skilled songwriters. She takes her songs to that level." -Joe Schreifels, thesongcrafters.com "...beautiful voice, masterful guitar playing and lyrics that stay with you even longer than an Energizer can fuel a furry pink bunny...I've been torn between my hunger for hearing the emotion with which she imbues the performance of her music and my overwhelming desire to sing along." Chuck Ellingson, choral conductor, Milwaukee Biography: This Twin Cities based singer-songwriter got her feet wet as an eight year old back up vocalist with her father's top-forty bar band. More than a decade later, Kellie Lin is still making music, and can often be found trying out her latest songs in the subways of her adopted hometown, Boston, MA. Kellie's official performance career was born out of an attempt to raise awareness and funds for advocates of non-violence by booking her own acoustic duo, Those Two Girls, into area coffee houses, schools and special events. Her efforts were rewarded in 1996 after several years of fundraising when she became a recipient of the Minnesota Peace Prize. Two years later, while studying jazz guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Kellie Lin was called back to Minnesota to reunite with her all-girl trio, Propinquity, as a finalist for the Lilith Fair Local Stage. She is currently finishing her degree at Berklee and putting in her time as a solo artist in Boston's active folk community. As a songwriter, Kellie has been most heavily influenced by the storytellers, such as Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Susan Werner, and Nanci Griffith. With musical roots that stretch back to everything from jazz and cabaret to bluegrass and pop, Kellie's shows are an eclectic set of melodic, groove driven acoustic originals. Her performances are intimate, energetic, and often times highly interactive. In all instances, Kellie Lin's voracious listening and observation senses bring substance and style to her own writing and performance. Notable performances have included benefits for the National Leukemia Society, The Minnesota Health Department's Non-Violence Initiative, the MS Walkathon, Stop the Violence Day at the Minnesota Metrodome, Boston's Encore Gala, showcases for the Folk Alliance and Just Plain Folks, Duluth's Songwriters in the Round with Bill Isles, and most recently, The Mud Creek Folk Festival in Rockford, IL. Kellie Lin has also been featured, (with Propinquity) on Minnesota's KARE 11 television. For Bookings: kellie@kellielinknott.com http://www.kellielinknott.com Thanks for your interest!
