简介
Scott Burgess and the Gringo Kings make energetic music with a Texas flair tells the story of rodeos, friends, cowboys, and just growing up. The band was formed in May of 2007 and has been going strong ever since. The band has released five singles within the last two years and all five charted on the Texas Regional Radio Report, The Texas Music Charts, and The Roots Music Charts. Scott Burgess contributes the songwriting which may include the help of his wife and friends. He covers the vocals and rhythm guitar. Bryan Wright, lead guitar, Banjo, Clayton Bankston fiddle, Randy Lincoln, bass guitar, and Mario Calderon, drums complete the band. Scott’s years as a rodeo cowboy, bareback horses, and 14 years as a fire fighter has had a great impact on his style of songwriting. Artists such as Chris LeDoux, Merle Haggard, Jason Boland, and Cross Canadian Ragweed are just a few that also influence to his songwriting. This explains their unique expansive style of music. They perform an endless variety of cover songs along with originals from their CD’s “Thank God For The Cowboy”, “The Gringo Kings”, “The Reckoning”, (released as Scott Lyle Band) and their current release, “Full Circle”. They can be seen at venues all over the great state of Texas and throughout the good ole’ USA. To hear some great music with high energy, check them out at an upcoming show. Scott Burgess has never met a stranger so stop by and say “Hi”. “So my friends if you want to hear some great music, relive some tension and stress there's no excuse if you live in Cowtown. Just look up one of those places I listed, or look up some great artist and go listen to them. These guys will ROCK you out, but still have that “WOW” factor when it comes to their ability to pack the dance floor with a slow buckle rubbing ballad. The first time I met them, I knew they were the REAL DEAL. I'll drop what I'm doing, to go see them, if they are playing around me. Radio folks, you owe it to your listeners, to turn the Scott Burgess & the Gringo Kings loose on the airwaves.”” — Jim Nash Program Director/Morning Show Host, KRVF 106.9 The Ranch ““When you hear the Scott Burgess, you hear true Texas country. The band has a Chris LeDoux type sound with a red Dirt Mix. And if you haven't hung out with the guys, your missing out because they are true good Ol' Boys!” ,” — Adam, Rockabilly's, Fort Smith, Ark“ I like this band. They're following their own lead. Not scared to perform songs that have meaning. I'd pay the cover.” Jamie Richards - Jamie Richards “I’m not sure how much longer It will take for People to take notice of these guys. It’s been a couple years now. But I do know that the D/FW-based band is really, really good! There’s evidence to that fact with the band’s latest single, ‘Beautiful’. Don’t ask me why few bands do uptempo love songs anymore without it coming off as corny, silly or lacking the emotional connection that a ballad does. Scott pulls it off as well as anybody. ‘Beautiful’ doesn’t sacrifice any of its meaning in its fun, happy, upbeat delivery. Lead singer Scott Burgess makes you believe the lyrics in his vocals, and the band sticks to what it’s great at, serving up a rocking country sound.
