Initially, the lyrics were used to help develop the song structure but were not intended to be used as the rest songs on the album it were all instrumental. The original version of Orange accompanied 12 other tracks that were recorded in July 2011. Orion The first song written specifically for this EP, it posed many challenges. Musically inspired by such bands as: Joy Division, The Longcut, and New Order. I wanted to write something with the same sort of driving force as Holy Funk by The Longcut or New Order's Ceremony. Four different basses were used on this track, a Kramer, a Tobias jazz bass, Epi Jack Cassady, and finally a Rickenbacher 4003. Three Inspired by Joe Jackson's hit single One More Time, this track would prove to be different from all the other tracks. The lyrics came first, but only the chorus was I sure about. To date, there are four different versions of Three. The first three were sung by DJ Lesh and the fourth being sung by Jay Dub. They vary musically from Blues to RnB to alternative rock. Main Street Musically this song was inspired by two songs, That's Entertainment by The Jam and Plainsong by The Cure. While finalizing the vocals for Three, we ran into a spot where we needed to replace a verse. After sometime I used the original chorus and hook intended for Main Street in Three. Now with the lyrical idea being used elsewhere, I retreated to my desert oasis. Late one Saturday night I stop at a Baker's Burgers and was served at the drive thru by a stunning girl. She looks like she probably rode on a float in a parade she's so picture perfect Americana, and then I notice the tattoos peeking out her shirt sleeve. The lyrics and music came together rather quickly after that.
