Kira Braun & Peter Krochak's fourth CD comes after 3 years of collaboration and brings a fully blossomed, solid performance. Both artists enjoy the development process of learning the music together and recording and performing the works. These particular songs are varied in their topics, ranging of course from the subject of love, ascension to Heaven, our often felt sense of melancholy and longing, and back to love, finishing with the almost nonsense verses of Poulenc's "Airs Chantés". This very fun and fleeting song cycle has it all ~ Romantic verse, a saucy romp, a serious song of grief, and then a lightning quick piece entitled 'Air Vif', meaning 'Brisk Song'. Brisk indeed! The guest performer is Andrew Bearcroft, a trumpeter hailing from England who currently plays with the Etobicoke Philharmonic and the Niagara Symphony. His sparkling trumpet adds the perfect element of cheeky 'Triumph' to the title song, 'Hark, the Echoing Air'. We hope you will enjoy!
