When you hear him singing and playing guitar or keyboard, you will be enchanted by the depth of emotion in his voice and brought into a world of romantic images by his creative lyrics. John started playing guitar in his mid-teens and started writing songs shortly thereafter. John writes his own melodies and lyrics, and sings with a variety of styles. His guitar-accompanied songs are generally considered soft-rock, country or folk and range from the mellow "Dream Girl" and the melodic "Empty Mailbox" to the energy-filled and lusty "Lonely Summer Night". Having taken a few piano lessons in early childhood, John has also composed several instrumentals for keyboard including "The Detective" and uses the keyboard to accompany such songs as "Emotional Emergency" and "South Beach Summer Night". He currently has about twenty songs copyrighted and is working on copyrighting many more to make them available for public performance or an additional release. During college, John performed on Bernie McKane's talent show on WWDB Radio in Philadelphia and won 2nd place. After graduating, he entered the corporate world and simultaneously attended graduate school. Unfortunately, he found little time for his music. He describes his desire to perform his music as similar to having a fire burning inside. "I've realized that life is too short to let that kind of fire burn inside for too long," he says. John finally entered the studio in 2000 and worked with Producer Anthony Krizan who has played with many major artists and performed with The Spin Doctors on the album "You've Got to Believe in Something". The result is John’s first release, which contains five songs and includes the title track “Lonely Summer Night”. John performed lead and backing vocals and played rhythm guitar on all songs and the keyboard introduction on “Dream Girl”. Anthony played lead, rhythm and slide guitars, bass and also performed backing vocals. Also joining John in the studio are John Ginty whose keyboard talents have earned him work alongside such artists as Santana, Jewel, and Sheryl Crow.
