The Trio plays mostly original compositions written by Jim MacMillan as well as a sprinkling of re-arrangements of unusual covers. Our style is a bit difficult to characterize but has been described as a mixture of folk, rock, jazz with a bit of Latin and Reggae mixed in. Rick Hulett ,I think nailed it best as ​"Modern Folk", though I am also leaning toward New Eclectic or Evolving Folk.

​Jim MacMillan plays a Larrivee acoustic cutaway. Ryan McAlexander plays tasty bass guitar as well as stand up bass and also comes in on sweet back up vocals. Randy Bell, the master of rhythm, is an outstanding drummer and in this setting plays cajon and hand percussion.
