简介
'Sorrow Tomorrow' is the second LP from Mexico's Has A Shadow, and the first to be released on Fuzz Club Records. Officially released January 18th, the London label are lauded as “exquisite purveyors of all things noise” Clash, and Has A Shadow sees this ring truer than ever. Rumbling in on dark storm clouds from Guadalajara, Mexico their new release is an adrenaline-fuelled rush of eerie gothic organs, motorik bass-lines, marching percussion, squalls of chiming, fuzz-ridden guitars and the ritualistic chants of vocalist Daniel Garciano. Imagine an unholy, dirty mix of the Seeds, the Cramps, Suicide and Darklands-era Jesus And Mary Chain - there's a foreboding, sinister edge lurking round every corner but it's at times delivered with a pop sensibility. True to their name, Has a Shadow, have a sinister darkness lurking beneath their skin and 'The Flesh' is wallowing in it. A haunting exercise in dark and ritualistic psych-gaze that heaves and undulates through swathes of unabashed reverberation and driving instrumentation tinged with menacing gothic tones. 'Lord of Flies' is reminiscent of Radioactivity-era Kraftwerk, a post apocalyptic drone that is haunting in its brutal rawness. As much as 'The Flesh' has edge, 'Lord of Flies' seeps in vulnerability. It is fractured, fragile and beautiful. ‘World Sensation’ is a rush of a song, a Silver Apples-esque drone is underpinned by an unremitting bass-line. The repeated riff is accompanied by chants of 'Dead, Dead, Dead, Dead' as the notes fall into one another in a raging maelstrom finale. 'Attack of the Junkie' is relentless, euphoric and locked in a hypnotic groove, falling somewhere between The Seeds’ ‘Evil Hoodoo’ and Spacemen 3's ‘Playing With Fire’.
